RANGE RULES

 

RANGE RULES

  1. All firearms brought onto this range must be unloaded, either carried with the actions open or enclosed in a gun case, kit, box, holster, etc. until at the actual firing point. Concealed carry firearms are allowed as long as they remain concealed. If unconcealed, all range rules apply.
  2. A. The Range Officer (RO) on duty is in direct charge of the range at all times when firing is being conducted.
  3. B. The RO will bar from the range any person handling a firearm in an unsafe or careless manner. The RO will also void this person's membership card until they can demonstrate safety in the handling of firearms.

    C. The RO has the authority to inspect all firearms and ammunition and will ban their use if, in his judgment, they are unsafe or not in good working order.

  4. A. All persons utilizing the facilities are required to be members in good standing or their invited guests.
  5. B. All persons utilizing the range facilities are required to review and understand the rules of the range on their first visit.

    C. Persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult. This adult shall act as coach and must remain with the minor at all times while the minor is utilizing the range.

    D

    . NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON THE RANGE. ANYONE DRUNK OR DRINKING WHILE HANDLING GUNS AT THE RANGE WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE, AND THEIR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE TERMINATED.

    E. No smoking is permitted when black powder and muzzle loader shooters are using the range.

  6. A. When leaving the firing line temporarily, lay the firearm down with the muzzle pointing down range and with the action open and visible.
  7. B. No guns are allowed down range in front of the firing points. When checking your target, leave your gun at the firing line with the action open.

    C. CEASE FIRING! ON THIS COMMAND, ALL FIRING MUST STOP AND ALL FIREARMS MUST BE IMMEDIATELY UNLOADED!!

    D. Firearms may not be handled at the firing line when anyone is in the down range area.

    E. Glass targets are never allowed.

  8. All trash is to be placed in the proper receptacle.
  9. Eye Protection
  10. – It is obligatory that all persons on the firing line wear eye protection. The club will have safety glasses available for those forgetting to bring them.
  11. Ear Protection
  12. – A form of ear protection must be worn by all persons on the firing line (earplugs, earmuffs, etc.). The club will have disposable ear plugs available for those forgetting to bring them.
