2008 News Update
STATUS OF NEW RANGE – Unfortunately, we don’t have a new range yet. As we told you last year, Ruger is planning to purchase land to build a new range that the Club can use. Ruger’s first attempt to purchase land in Newport was withdrawn because of restrictions on use of the property. Ruger is now looking into building a range behind the factory. There may be some environmental hurdles to jump, but it would be great to have the new range close-by in Newport again! We’ll keep you posted as more news is available.
ANNUAL BANQUET & RAFFLE – APRIL 5TH – Mark that date in your calendar!! We are planning a terrific banquet. It will be held at the Croydon Fire Dept. on Route 10 in Croydon. Doors open at 5pm, and dinner will be 6pm. It will be our traditional potluck dinner ‘cuz we love all the dishes you members bring! We’ll have lots of great raffle prizes for the Chinese auction, and another Ruger Over-and-Under Shotgun for the big raffle! Please be sure to RSVP when you return the member renewal form.
BY-LAWS UPDATE – Enclosed in this mailing each member is receiving an updated copy of the Club’s By-Laws. We encourage all members to review them. The biggest changes are:
o Executive Officers are no longer restricted to Ruger employees. See Article VIII for details.
o All members are allowed to vote! No more “Ruger employee members” and “associate members”. All members have the same privileges.
o The method for accepting new members has been changed. See Article V for details.
TIME TO VOTE FOR 2008 EXECUTIVE OFFICERS! Your ballot is enclosed. Please complete it and mail it back to us by March 1st. Ballots received after the deadline cannot be counted.
